Photographs as visual cues in videogames
A downloadable project
This is a visual essay for the Visual Essay Jam, focusing on the presentation of photographs within games and how they function as visual cues for the player. Screenshots from multiple games, including Life Is Strange, Gone Home and even The Legend of Zelda; The Wind Waker have been thematically arranged so that the reader can compare and contrast between the different images, forming their own impression of what the photographs in the games communicate.
